How to Join NZ Action Talent Agency

Are you serious about working in the film and television industry? NZ Action Talent is looking for dedicated, reliable, and professional performers to be part of our agency. Whether you’re interested in background extra work, body doubling, stand-in roles, action extras, or stunt performing, we expect all our talent to maintain high work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to safety on set.

We are New Zealand’s only agency that trains and represents its own talent, ensuring that everyone we put forward is skilled, safe, and production-ready.

Who Can Join?

​Anyone in NZ with permit to work and IRD number.

Background Extras, Body Doubles, and Stand-Ins, Acting, TVCs

• Open to all applicants.

• Must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and commitment to work ethic.

• A one-time, non-refundable agency fee of $50 applies upon registration.

• Video phone interview will be undertaken by our agent.

Action Extras

• Must have successfully at least completed the Action Extra Workshop at New Zealand Stunt School (NZSS).

• This ensures you understand basic stunt movements, set etiquette, and safety protocols.

Stunt Performers

• Must have successfully completed the Fight for Camera (FFC) course at New Zealand Stunt School (NZSS).

• Stunt performers must display strong work ethic, discipline, and safety awareness at all times.

Our Expectations: Work Ethic, Safety & Professionalism

By joining NZ Action Talent, you agree to uphold the highest standards of reliability, professionalism, and safety on set. Productions expect our talents to be:

• Reliable – If you accept a role, you must commit to it. No last-minute cancellations, no-showing, or unprofessional behavior

• Serious & Professional – This is a job, not a hobby. You must respect production schedules, directors, and crew instructions.

• Committed to Safety – Whether you’re doing action scenes or background work, safety is a priority. You must follow set protocols, listen to coordinators, and act responsibly.

• Good Work Ethic – Show up on time, be prepared, and stay focused on the job. Productions won’t rehire unreliable performers.

Failing to meet these expectations may result in removal from NZ Action Talent immediately.

 

Agency Terms & Conditions

• Agency Fee: A one-time, non-refundable $50 joining fee applies. 

• Commission: NZ Action Talent charges an 18% agency commission on all jobs booked through the agency or a one-off %50 flat fee per stunt professional job (regardless of duration).

• Profile Requirements: You must complete your Heycast profile in full. Incomplete profiles will not be visible to casting agencies and cannot be submitted for any jobs.

• Exclusivity Policy:

  • NZ Action Talent is the ONLY agency that may submit you for stunt, action extra, standing ins or body double work.

  • If you have an acting agency, they cannot submit you for these jobs.

  • If you do not have an acting agency, NZ Action Talent may also submit you for acting work.

• Payment Terms: Payment for completed work will be processed once production will been processed payment on their side.

• Jurisdiction: All agreements are governed under RBA jurisdiction to ensure transparency and fairness.

1️⃣ Complete Your Heycast Profile - https://app.heycast.co/join/NZAT

• Sign up and fill in all required details. If you already have a Heycast account, link to NZAT agency or create a child account with us.

• Make sure your photos, measurements, and skills are acurate and up to date.

• Link your profile to NZAT agency in the About section

• Once your profile is completed, email us info@nzactiontalent.com for verification and booking your video phone call interview. If interview successful and profile approved, can move to the next step.

2️⃣ Pay the One-Time Agency Fee ($50)

• Payment details will be provided upon application.

3️⃣ (If Required) Complete Your Training

• If you’re joining as an action extra or stunt performer, ensure you’ve completed your required training at NZSS.

4️⃣ Join our Telegram private talent groups where all jobs will be posted and apply when interested and available

5️⃣ Get Approved & Start Being Put Forward

• Once your application is reviewed, you’ll be added to our database and eligible for submission to productions!
